Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Live auditing of lab facilities.
- Installation and de-installation of lab infrastructure equipment (routers, switches, servers, firewalls, test equipment, etc.).
- Experience with work request ticketing systems and their operation.
- Knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, and working knowledge of access-lists.
- Installation of fiber into LGX panels, working with various types of fiber connectors, fiber runs, and patches, with the ability to read and navigate LGX panels on different floors or locations.
- Basic knowledge of A/C & DC power, UPS systems, and BDFB panels for power installations.
MUST BE ABLE TO:
- Work with on-site team to plan and identify unused cables and network elements, and remove them from the facility during normal business hours.
- Provide cable mining service, removing unwanted and unused cables from underneath data center raised floors.
- Assist in asset disposal recovery and logging of unused lab equipment.
- Update and keep track of equipment utilizing floor planning tool.
- Work with little to no direct on-site supervision.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Previous experience performing installation and de-installation services for a major telecommunications provider.
- General computer application skills required (MS Office applications, Adobe, GSuite, etc.).
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High School Diploma.
REQUIRED SHIFT:
- 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST (one unpaid hour for lunch). Overtime available with supervisor’s approval.
Work Environment:
- 95% in the lab. Laptop provided. Some work may require leather gloves/kevlar gloves, camera or phone with camera, screwdriver and other tools, snips, cable knife, diagonal pliers, tone generator, and tone probe.
