Job Description


We are seeking Telecom Network Engineering Manager with solid voice, data,  messaging and mobile roaming experience. This manager will oversee network planning,  architecture, and design/implementation of voice and data services. The Network Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team accountable for  architecture and design/Implementation of voice and/or data services like IP Routers at access, core and edge; Mobile Switching Systems (MSS); IP  Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Core and peering Interconnect Session Border Controller (SBC)s

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage Network Design/Implementation team and provide consistent leadership  through the hiring, planning, communicating, and managing of the team
  • Create and maintain network architecture
  • Design and develop/implement network node configurations
  • Support validation, deployment, optimization and operations of network nodes
  • Manage capital budget, commercial contracts, hardware/software purchase orders
  • Testing and validation of new IP multimedia services, feature enhancements and  software bug fixes
  • Establish, validate and maintain direct interconnects with other mobile carriers for  interoperability
  • Develop and maintain 2- to 3-year strategic infrastructure plan including long-term vision,  technology roadmaps, goals and objectives
  • Develop and oversee change management and quality assurance processes including  review and approval of engineering design proposals, implementation plans, and  acceptance plans
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor' s Degree in  electrical engineering or related discipline 
  • 5-7 years of experience in a technical role with increasing responsibility
  • 5-7 years of experience managing engineers and various stakeholders
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the following:
    • Design, implementation and support of VoIP and data services in mobile networks (LTE, 3G/4G, WiFi)
    • Mobile network nodes such as BTS, BSC, eNodeB, RNC, eNodeB, MME, S/G-GSN, S/P-GW, I-SBC, MSS/MSC
    • Design, implementation and support of layered network models at the Access, Distribution/Aggregation, Core, and Data Center locations
    • Design, implementation and support of BGP in an enterprise environment 
    • Design, implementation, and support of layer 2 protocols including 802.1s MST, RSTP, LAG, VLANS etc.,
    • Design, implementation, and support of layer 3 protocols including OSPF and VRRP.
    • Design, implementation, and support of MPLS including VRF’ s, RVSP, LDP, VPLS, L3VPN, MP-BGP, route targets, route designers
    • Selection, procurement, installation, and configuration of enterprise class routers and switching products 
    • Design, implementation, and support of enterprise firewalls including security zones, policies, NAT, DMZ
    • 802.11 wireless principles including channel planning, cell capacity, RSSI, overlap, co-channel, radiation patterns, AP placement, antenna selection, and interference
    • External DNS, internal DNS, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS, and IPAM.
    • SNMP/syslog monitoring
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, UPS, and electrical
  • Understanding of transport technologies including IP, ATM, TDM, SONET, dark-fiber, DWDM, TDM, copper/fiber
  • Knowledge of scripting tools, web development, and database design is a plus
  • CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certified or equivalent network engineering expertise is a plus
