Job Description:
The Client is a premier boutique multi-state business encompassing real estate development, construction management, general contracting and owner’s representation throughout the United States which is located in NYC. Our clients and partners rely heavily on our decades of experience to ensure that they are building a profitable project for their portfolios. There are several operating entities controlling these businesses. There are numerous single purpose entities formed to hold equity and draw developer fees in real estate development deals. The Client is in the process of raising capital to support its real estate development goals. Each SPE has its own terms, percentages of equity, percentage of developer fees and other fees such as asset management fees, and each are to be tracked accurately and timely to ensure the proper flow of payments to all stakeholders. Each SPE is to provide its own P & L, financial reporting, cash flow analysis and monthly summary. We are a growing business that is in need of a Controller who will become a vital part of the overall business mission and your contributions will assist in being the anchor to the financial leg of the stool.
System driven approach with attention to detail. Responsible for all accounting department functions. Monthly financial reporting, Annual GAAP Financials (with outside CPA). Setting up and maintaining policies and procedures to enhance internal controls. Cash Flow management and reporting. Able to multi-task.
This position is a full time in office position located in midtown-West. This position does not include flex-time.
Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain general ledger and job cost system.
• Experience with Percentage of Completion WIP reporting.
• Participate (with Project Managers) in the preparation of Project cash flow reports.
• Timely Month-end and Year-end close.
• Monthly bank reconciliation.
• Prepare management reports monthly.
• Maintain real-time cashflow reporting.
• Manage payroll.
• Provide key performance metrics.
• Cash Flow management and reporting.
• Liaise with CPS Firm, Bankers and other outside professionals.
• Additional ad hoc financial and managerial requirements.
Requirements
• Degree in Accounting required, CPA a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of increasing responsibility in a construction company.
• Working knowledge of Sage 100
• Experience with SAGE and its integration with Procore
