Job Description:

This position will sit on-site daily in the office. No hybrid or remote schedule offered.

As a Desktop Build Technician in the Desktop group, a candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, configuring, testing, and shipping computer hardware and software components to create functional computer systems for customers. The role requires a solid understanding of computer hardware and software, as well as excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. The candidate will coordinate and collaborate with Desktop Analysts, Business Support, and Asset Management teams to provide new and refreshed laptops to end users after configuration is complete. Additionally, exceptional communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Installing and configuring operating systems, device drivers, and software applications on computer systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, such as system crashes, hardware malfunctions, and software conflicts.
  • Performing system updates and maintenance tasks, such as software patches and firmware updates
  • Providing technical support to customers over the phone or through email, chat, or remote access tools
  • Conducting quality control checks to ensure that computer systems meet performance standards and customer requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed, customer information, and inventory of computer components
  • Staying up to date with the latest computer hardware and software technologies to provide customers with the best possible solutions

Education/Certifications?
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience preferred
Experience/Minimum Requirements?
  • 2-4 years of experience maintaining and supporting IT/desktop/computer systems across an enterprise
