Job Summary:
Responsible for developing conceptual designs for wireless telecommunications sites and reviewing drawings produced by CAD Technicians. Also responsible for providing support and mentoring to less experienced drafters and facilitating internal workflow. May be tasked with designing project-specific templates, as required.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
1. Information Assessment – Research and review project requirements and design information to determine
sufficiency to complete the design while ensuring that the design concept can be met.
2. Production Coordination – Coordinate with other Project Managers and Engineers to establish essential
functions and deadlines necessary to finish specific projects.
3. Setup – Determine appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the
client’s requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing
CAD file.
4. Drafting – Complete the drawing process using the information contained within the documents and in line
with the Scope of Work. Make necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process.
5. Quality Control – review drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate
drafting standards.
6. Drawing Presentation – Present and explain completed designs to appropriate personnel for review,
adjustments and/or delivery.
7. Drafting Support – Provide technical and procedural support to CAD Technicians and Designers.
8. Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge/Skill/Ability Equivalent Education/Experience
• Technical knowledge – Proficient in company
approved computer drafting platform and
drafting techniques.
• Analytical Skills – Ability to analyze information
to ascertain relevance and to visualize in 3-D
• Communication Skills - Oral and written
communication skills, with the ability to clearly
express questions, explanations and make
suggestions.
• Computer Skills – Competent and proficient in
the use of standard office computers and
programs, i.e., MS Office.
• Decision Making – Adept at making design related
decisions once appropriate information is
gathered from various sources
• Certificate or Associate Degree in Drafting
• 2 Years of Drafting Experience in Wireless
Telecommunications or a Related Industry
• Experience in the Wireless Telecommunications
Industry Preferred
• Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks
and projects
