JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Senior Director of Engineering
Focus: The Business Development Manager position will oversee all areas of revenue generation including prospecting, developing and maintaining client relationships, and achieve sales goals. They will be responsible for client profiles and CRM management, contract negotiations, create and close sales opportunities, marketing, and sales education to ensure the client has full support with today's engineering and geospatial services project needs.

Establish Clear Goals and Objectives
Daily Expectations:
- Promote a culture that embraces continuous improvement, personal accountability, teamwork and client satisfaction to achieve objectives and client relations
- Monitor progress and address any issues
Weekly Expectations:
- Report pipeline development
- Report client feedback to the team
- Align with Broadband Solutions and Distribution Sales to create the best client experience
Monthly Expectations:
- Create marketing campaigns to support objectives
- Attend trade shows to promote the brand
- Align Goals with Broadband Solutions and Distribution Sales
Measurable Expectations:
- Improved performance and productivity metrics
- Sales revenue generated
- Sales cycle length and conversion rates at each state of the sales pipeline
- Meeting and/or exceeding established revenue targets
Lead Qualification and Pipeline Generation
Daily Expectations:
- Prospecting for new leads through research, networking, and outreach
- Addressing prospect objections and concerns
- Sending proposals and quotes to potential clients
Weekly Expectations:
- Documenting sales activities and updating CRM
- Negotiating terms and closing deals with prospective clients
- Management of Pipeline: review, follow up and ask for the business
Monthly Expectations:
- Identify and prioritize high- value opportunities
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the closing process
- Collaborate with Marketing to create lead generation; analyze and make adjustments
- Maintain sales pipeline and assess the status of each opportunity
Measurable Expectations:
- Number and value of closed deals
- Sales revenue generated meets and/or exceeds targets
- Sales cycle length and conversion rates at each state of the sales pipeline
- Attainment of sales & gross profit goals
Alignment and Collaboration
Daily Expectations:
- Review customers feedback to revise strategy development
- Oversee the day to day execution of marketing campaigns and sales activities
- Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviors
Weekly Expectations:
- Foster innovation. Schedule time each week to talk about improvements to existing structure, processes, and routines, while also being open to new solutions that need to be developed.
- Ensure the alignment of messaging and content with the Ecosystem
- Share MIL and industry news with clients to provide value
Monthly Expectations:
- Review and adjust pricing and products/service strategies as needed
- Assess effectiveness of marketing channels and adjust as needed
- Plan for next month’s sale and marketing activities
Measurable Expectations:
- Ecosystem selling
- Sales and marketing plan ROI
- Client feedback and satisfaction
Performance Tracking and Reporting
Daily Expectations:
- Communication with clients through phone calls, emails, or in person meetings documented in CRM
- Provide exceptional customer service and build rapport
- Anticipate client needs and proactively address them; deliver on promises and commitments
Weekly Expectations:
- Ensure clients are aware of new products or services that could benefit them
- Check in with clients to assess their satisfaction and identify potential issues
- Documenting sales activities and updating CRM
Monthly Expectations:
- Identify recurring issues and develop strategies to prevent them
- Collaborate with clients on strategic planning or goal setting
- Continuous product and service training with team to maintain an “expert” status as it relates to helping our clients be first to market with the right solution for their application
- Research, identify and make recommendations for new market penetration, vertical markets and/or market share
Measurable Expectations:
- Meet and/or exceed financial targets
- Positive client feedback and satisfaction rating
Client Relationships & Client Administration
Daily Expectations:
- Support clients through listening, learning and offering solutions
- Manage client inquiries and appointments
- Process client onboarding and account set up; follow MIL credit application policy and other client engagement procedures
- Maintain accurate clients records and contact information
- Keep data clean by removing duplicates and inaccuracies
Weekly Expectations:
- Train staff to ensure data quality and accurate records using CRM as needed
Monthly Expectations:
- Review reports or other resources to ensure client intel accuracy
Measurable Expectations:
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed for client onboarding
- Meet and/or exceed forecasted Client Retention targets
- Client satisfaction
