About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to join our Civil and Energy teams in Louisville. This role is ideal for someone with 3+ years of hands-on civil design experience, whether acquired through formal education or on-the-job training. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software and a strong understanding of grading and drainage design, road design, storm sewer layout, and topographic modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create and modify design plans.
- Develop grading, drainage, and road designs, including working with surfaces, contours, and stormwater layouts.
- Design and analyze parking lots, storm sewers, and site layouts based on project requirements.
- Interpret and apply engineering and surveying standard practices to projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in preparing construction documents, reports, and calculations.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of civil design experience, preferably in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage, storm sewer layout, and road design.
- Experience working with existing and proposed contours for site development.
- Familiarity with surveying principles and engineering standards.
- Degree in civil engineering or a related field is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
