Construction Manager (OSP Fiber Construction)
Location: Dayton, OH
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $40-$42 based on experience

About the Opportunity
Broadstaff is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee underground fiber optic construction projects in the Dayton, Ohio market. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on telecommunications professional who thrives in a fast-paced field environment and has experience managing subcontractors, production, safety, and project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily field operations for underground fiber construction projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee multiple subcontractor crews.
  • Monitor production, quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
  • Conduct routine field visits and jobsite inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, permits, customer requirements, and local regulations.
  • Track and report daily production metrics, including footage installed, handholes, tie-ins, and project milestones.
  • Review subcontractor production and validate invoices against completed work.
  • Coordinate traffic control, restoration activities, and stakeholder concerns.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and schedule updates to management.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of telecommunications construction experience.
  • 3+ years in a Construction Manager, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of OSP fiber construction practices.
  • Experience managing underground telecommunications construction projects.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and field personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, utility prints, and construction documentation.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fiber optic installation, testing, splicing, or restoration experience.
  • Knowledge of traffic control and permitting requirements.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience working with municipalities, utilities, or large telecommunications infrastructure projects.
