Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Drop Technician to be part of our growing team and provide fiber internet installation and maintenance services to our customers. The Drop Technician will be responsible for installing fiber internet service, ensuring that all installations meet quality and safety standards The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a passion for delivering excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Install fiber internet service to the exterior of residential homes, including running fiber optic cables, splicing fibers, and testing connections
- Perform maintenance on fiber internet equipment and infrastructure as needed
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures when installing fiber internet service
- Ensure that all installations meet quality standards, and take corrective action as needed
- Document all installations and maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures
- Communicate with customers to schedule installations, answer questions, and provide updates on the status of their fiber internet service
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete installations and maintenance activities in a timely and efficient manner
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of installations experience in the telecommunications industry
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service in the field and timely, effective, clean installations
- Strong knowledge of the fiber internet market and technology trends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong technical skills, with a solid understanding of fiber internet infrastructure and installation processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the field
- Familiarity with standard safety protocols and procedures, and a commitment to working safely in the field
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Valid driver's license, excellent driving record and reliable transportation
