Position Overview


The Estimating Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the estimation process for fiber optic internet infrastructure deployments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the material, labor, and subcontractor estimation process for projects and deployments, considering all relevant factors from project concept to completion
  • Evaluate bid documents, technical specifications, and project requirements to develop comprehensive and competitive bid proposals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, and project management to gather necessary information for accurate estimates
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide transparent communication regarding cost estimates and budget considerations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain accurate and timely pricing for project components
  • Manage the estimating resources, systems, tools, and procedures used to support the different class estimates, align with project controls, and create a historical database of productivity and performance factors.
  • Ensure estimating control protocol includes a process to estimate major trends and scope changes.
  • Plan and allocate tasks to appropriate stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage investigation and analysis of detail estimates and projects for factors and costs.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team consistently delivers accurate and competitive estimates. Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis, identifying areas for cost savings and proposing value options
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining cost breakdowns, project budgets, and financial considerations for leadership and project management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business
  • All other projects or duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years estimating and bidding experience in the telecommunications or construction industry
  • Solid understanding of the business end to end Engineering and Construction
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools
  • Excellent time management skills, detail-oriented, and have the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment under stringent time-constraints
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, delegation, and organization skills
  • Ability to lead and guide estimating strategies and meetings with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently or function effectively as a member of a team
  • Must be a strong communicator (written and oral)
  • Be self-directed and highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to travel for site visits, meetings, or as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work in inclement weather, stand, and drive for extended periods of time
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of your arms, legs, and moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting standing, and handling materials up to 75lbs
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Applicants must submit to a Driver’s License review, drug test & criminal background check
