JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the Position: The Civil Technician is responsible for supporting his/her crew during wireless cell site  construction. One takes direction from the Civil Foreman and will have the ability to build a site based on a set of plans,  Methods of Procedure (MOPs and Bill of Materials (BOMs) provided. The candidate must be willing to operate hand  tools, power tools and other constructions equipment and machinery daily in all outdoor weather environments. All  duties must be performed in accordance with OSHA and other worker safety standards with keeping high quality,  accountability and budget timelines in mind.  

Responsibilities: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Work on and around electrical components (including but not limited to) conduit installations, cabling,  grounding and various connectors.  

• Working with test systems (COAX, FIBER) 

• Perform form setting and site layout. 

• Safely operate heavy machinery for compaction, welding, etc.  

• Perform basic concrete carpentry. 

• Prepare materials for daily projects, prep trucks and trailer with necessary items to complete scheduled build.  • Successfully complete formal and on-the-job training.  

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required: 

• 1-3 years of Cell Site construction within the telecommunications field is required.  

• Experience working on and around electrical components. 

• Understanding of cell site construction. (Rooftop and Ground sites, no tower work) 

• Desire to succeed and learn new skills. 

• Commitment to excellence and high standards.  

• Strong organizational skills 

• Acute attention to detail 

• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.  

• Ability to complete COD/Photos daily reports.  

• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.  

• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. • Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly.  

• Driver’s License 

Work Environment: 

• Outside in all weather conditions.  

• Travel is required, home on weekends. 

• Noise encountered from heavy equipment use on job site 

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements 

Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook; Excel and Adobe Acrobat.  

Use of DelTek and SiteTracker a plus.
