Market Leader – Fiber Construction Operations
We are seeking a proven Market Leader to run all fiber construction operations in a major metro market. This is a hands-on leadership role for a true driver — someone who delivers results, holds teams accountable, and ensures projects get done on time with no excuses.
This role owns day-to-day execution of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP/MXU) construction, with a heavy focus on underground fiber, HDD, and splicing operations. You will lead a multi-disciplinary field organization and be fully accountable for safety, production, and performance across the market.
This is an in-office leadership role (not remote) with regular field presence.

What You’ll Do

Lead all OSP and ISP/MXU construction activity across the market

Drive on-time delivery of fiber build programs for major MSO clients

Own safety, quality, production, and team performance across all crews
-
Set clear KPIs and hold managers accountable to schedules and results

Lead and develop a management team across splicing, drilling, OSP, and MXU
-
Maintain strong field presence (minimum 3 site visits per week)

Partner with PMO and Finance to deliver projects within target margins

Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements

Build a culture of urgency, ownership, and accountability
Leadership Responsibilities

Hire, train, and develop managers and field leaders

Direct daily workflow across multiple construction functions

Conduct performance reviews and manage discipline when needed

Build a high-performance, results-driven team culture
What We’re Looking For
-
5+ years of fiber construction operations leadership experience
-
Strong background in underground fiber construction (OSP/ISP/MXU)
-
Prior field experience earlier in career (splicing, drilling, construction, or similar)
-
Proven ability to lead multi-layer field organizations and managers
-
Highly accountable, deadline-driven leadership style
-
Able to communicate credibly at a technical and executive level

Comfortable making tough decisions and pushing teams to deliver
Education & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
-
Strong operational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills

Proficient with MS Office or Google Workspace

Must pass background, drug, and motor vehicle screenings
Work Environment

Office-based leadership role with frequent field visits

Local market focus with minimal travel

Occasional extended hours based on project demands
