Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the technical project manager for the In-Building Venue Program Management Organization (IBV-PMO). The Project Manager on the IBV Team will be responsible for helping the team in its efforts to re-define the connected future of the In Building and Venue space across various technologies. As we move forward with 5G deployment, the Project Manager role will be a critical component in reimagining the technology, but also the equipment and integration by driving national standards to help to deliver superior network quality that our customers have come to expect.
• The candidate will be responsible for managing the In-Building network initiatives and projects. They will need to drive the stakeholders to ensure they meet project timelines, identify potential risks and mitigate impact to the project timelines by working with all cross-functionals teams and organizations.
• Understand and help communicate clear direction concerning process, standards and roles/responsibilities when required for Network.
• Work with management to communicate status, issues, accomplishments, and priorities of the program routinely on the projects.
• Responsible for end-to-end implementation of new IBV network initiatives.
• Manage deployment activities for the integration and commercial success (GA) of new products and services. This might include product backlogs, establishing milestone, timelines and establishing new product direction.
• Direct, drive and oversee projects/programs that require working with large teams and manage stakeholders.
• Ensure the right internal and external resources are appropriately engaged in a timely manner.
• Escalate project issues and drive resolution.
• Take ownership of issues and drives them to resolution.
TARGETED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
• Technical Project Management (3-5 Years)
• Experience in working with 4G/5G Network Initiatives/Projects (2+ Years)
• Program management across several cross-functional teams and organizations; external and internal.
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Previous Verizon Work Experience
• High-level knowledge in 5G, LTE, CDMA and EVDO technologies and their performance ability to demonstrate innovative ways to resolve problems.
• Understanding of RAN technologies used in IB deployments included but not limited D-RAN, O-RAN, DAS, NHN.
• High-level knowledge of major DAS systems such as Commscope, Corning, Teko/JMA, SpiderCloud, Solid, etc.
• High-level understanding of LTE network implementation knowledge (antenna, testing, throughput testing, shakedowns, system tuning, and problem resolution).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience in leadership roles in technology management.
• Experience in driving aspects of national projects.
• The ability to help drive change for the organization.
• Excellent problem solving and project planning skills.
• Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including:
o Communicating - written, oral, listening, speaking, internal/external, formal/informal, vertical/horizontal;
o Negotiating – reaching agreements; Problem Solving – problem definition and decision making;
o Influencing – getting things done.
