Job Description


Job Title: Utility Pole Fielder / OSP Supervisor

Location: Albuquerque and Sante Fe, NM

Compensation: ~$26-30/hr DOE

Role #1: Utility Pole Fielder (First 2-3 Months)

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct surveys of assigned utility poles using GPS data, capturing images, and gathering relevant information for engineering and pole load analysis.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and proper uploading of collected data and pictures.
  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills to engage with homeowners, obtaining access to poles located on private property and behind locked gates.

Requirements:
  • Personal vehicle and willingness to use it for job-related travel, with reimbursement for mileage.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific data collection procedures.
  • Proficiency in using GPS technology and basic photography skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with homeowners and other stakeholders.

Role #2: MDU Tech / CM Type Responsibilities (After 2-3 Months)

Responsibilities:
  • Perform field assessments and take pictures to determine optimal routes for fiber optic installation into properties.
  • Execute field construction tasks related to fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) projects, both aerial and underground.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure efficient and accurate deployment of fiber infrastructure.
  • Utilize previous fielding experience to contribute effectively to the Gigapower project.

Requirements:
  • Vehicle provided for job-related travel.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of field construction experience, preferably in telecommunications or related industries.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic technology and FTTH deployment methods.
  • Previous exposure to field construction as it relates to FTTH projects, including aerial and underground installations.
  • Junior-level position, not requiring prior experience managing crews but rather a hands-on approach to fieldwork.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
