Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on, highly organized Construction Supervisor to oversee day-to-day field operations across underground and aerial telecommunications construction projects. This frontline leadership role is responsible for managing both in-house and subcontractor crews, ensuring safety compliance, delivering high-quality workmanship, and meeting project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and support underground and aerial construction crews (operators, laborers, linemen, locators).
- Conduct daily tailgate meetings on jobsite goals, safety topics, and daily work plans.
- Mentor and coach team members while holding crews accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, DOT, NESC, 811, and company safety policies.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, climbing gear, fall protection, trench protection, and traffic control.
- Document and address near misses, hazards, and incidents; exercise stop-work authority as needed.
- Review job prints, permits, maps, and dig tickets before mobilization.
- Oversee trenching, boring, pole transfers, fiber lashing, slack storage, grounding, and cabinet/vault installation.
- Monitor installation quality (conduit, strand, fiber, tracer wire, restoration work).
- Record redlines and field changes; ensure accurate documentation for project closeout.
- Track labor hours, equipment usage, and material consumption.
- Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, engineering, and subcontractors to minimize downtime.
- Maintain digital job documentation (production reports, safety forms, project logs).
- Provide timely updates to management and project stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in underground and/or aerial telecom construction supervision preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction prints, city maps, and telecom designs.
- Knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and state dig laws (811).
- Proficiency with tablets, spreadsheets, project tracking tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of construction equipment (mini-excavators, trenchers, HDD rigs) preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capable of making independent decisions and solving problems under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications are a plus.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license required; ability to travel daily to multiple job sites.
