Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to RF Design of the regional wireless network
  • Support engineers in project creation and task completion
  • Create site design RFDS and complete plumbing diagrams
  • Utilize propagation tools and other RF related equipment for site candidate comparison, propagation and coverage review and selection, zoning and regulatory
  • Prepare and submit E-911 filings
  • Determine regulatory coverage boundaries for extensions, FAA/FCC filings
  • Prepare necessary zoning justification packages and regulatory filings for sites
  • Work closely with real estate team to increase efficiency, minimize cost, and streamline processes related to site acquisition, leasing, and zoning submissions
  • Conduct RFE analysis, generate required reports and documents, and ensure 100% compliance to RFE mitigation standards within the allotted time frame
  • Analyze sites post-activation to ensure project and database accuracy
  • Automate processes when opportunities arise and share information with the teams
  • Audit and correct internal databases to ensure accurate project implementation and reporting

Tools Experience Required:
  • ATOLL
  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Excel (advanced experience level)
  • Google Earth
  • FCC ASR and ULS databases
  • Visio
  • Tableau
  • Rooftmaster, RAVE, and other EME tools

Knowledge Requirements:
  • 4G and 5G network design and implementation
  • Antennas, RF engineering, transmission, reception, and propagation
  • Understanding of band performance capabilities and limitations
  • 3GPP Performance KPIs and impacts of design on them
  • Effects of outdoor terrain and indoor structures on signal propagation
  • Understanding and use of topographical maps and digital terrain databases
  • Antenna system design and use
  • Macro site design considerations in various environments
  • Small cell design considerations in urban and suburban environments
  • Analyzing and manipulating large datasets
  • 5+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry

Education/Certifications:
  • BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry

Required Shift:
  • Standard 8am-5pm, M-F Pacific Time
