The Field Operations Manager oversees daily business activities, enhancing overall business functions across divisions, training management personnel, managing budgets, contributing to strategic plans, and enforcing policies. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, this role manages field technicians, contractors, and third-party install companies, ensuring team productivity, efficiency, and adherence to customer service expectations through effective leadership.

We are seeking a resourceful individual with excellent time management, employee management, and leadership skills. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and overseeing both full-time and contract field technicians, assigning territories and schedules, and providing necessary feedback to improve the customer experience. Regular updates are submitted to the executive team, and training programs are implemented for field representatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations, providing guidance and leadership to enhance efficiency, productivity, and company morale.
  • Conduct training sessions for management and staff as needed.
  • Evaluate team performance regularly, providing individualized strategies based on performance metrics.
  • Manage recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and counseling of new employees based on business growth and company needs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and address internal and external customer issues in line with company values.
  • Analyze operational costs and develop strategies for improvement while maintaining budgetary objectives.
  • Establish and enforce organizational standards to maintain service quality.
  • Develop strategic plans and objectives, working with upper management to optimize expenditures.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and authority to lead technicians.
  • Contribute to enhancement planning efforts at team, district, and regional levels.
  • Coordinate closely with management and Tier 1 support during unplanned outages.
  • Complete, maintain, and process pertinent paperwork and records.

Required Qualifications:
  • Excellent written communication and technical writing skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills with a positive attitude and high integrity.
  • Experience with FTTx network and infrastructure technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of field technicians.
  • Strong customer service skills and staff management experience.
  • Experience with collaboration and critical thinking exercises.
  • Demonstrated time management and dexterity.
  • Comfortable processing terminations and providing technical assistance.
  • History of regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to travel to and from all company territories and facilities, including during inclement weather.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Engineering, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of FTTH and GPON field management experience.
  • Experience with fiber monitoring test equipment is a plus.
