About the Opportunity
Broadstaff is supporting a national engineering client in identifying a licensed Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) to join their growing telecom engineering team.
This is a rare, high-impact role where you will serve as a key technical authority supporting structural projects across Illinois, with a focus on telecom infrastructure (towers, rooftops, water tanks, and similar structures).

What You’ll Be Doing
- Review, design, and sign/seal structural engineering documents for Illinois-based projects
- Perform structural analysis for:
- Towers and mounts
- Rooftop installations
- Water tanks and similar structures
- Prepare and review:
- Engineering reports
- Construction drawings
- Technical documentation
- Support telecom infrastructure projects for major carriers and tower owners
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams across multiple disciplines
- Ensure QA/QC compliance and engineering best practices
- (Depending on experience) Mentor junior engineers and support project delivery
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license – REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural preferred)
- Minimum 4+ years of structural engineering experience
- Ability to sign/seal work in Illinois
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design
Preferred Experience
- Telecom / wireless infrastructure experience (towers, small cell, DAS, etc.)
- Experience with structural analysis tools such as:
- RISA 3D
- TNX Tower
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Open to Candidates With
- Building or structural design backgrounds (non-telecom)
- Willingness to learn telecom and work in a faster-paced delivery model
Compensation
- $100,000 – $130,000 base salary (depending on experience)
- Bonus eligible
